We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Specialist with expertise in non-profit accounting, grant financial reporting, and government billing. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards. Key Responsibilities

Non-profit Accounting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Reconcile bank and credit card statements Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards Participate in annual audit preparation and support external auditors Monitor and maintain the chart of accounts Assist in budget preparation and tracking

Grant Financial Reporting:

Manage financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, tracking, and reporting Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for grantors Monitor grant expenditures to ensure compliance with grant agreements and budgets Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for grant reporting Maintain detailed records of grant-related financial transactions Assist in the preparation of grant proposals by providing financial information Ensure proper allocation of expenses to appropriate grants and programs

Government Billing:

Prepare and submit accurate invoices to government agencies for services rendered Ensure compliance with government billing regulations and requirements Monitor accounts receivable related to government contracts Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve billing discrepancies Maintain detailed records of all government billing transactions Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for billing Stay up-to-date with changes in government billing procedures and regulations

General Accounting Tasks:

Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures Perform account analysis and reconciliations Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance department

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a non-profit setting
