The AR & AP Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to accounts receivable and accounts payable operations. This position ensures the company’s cash flow is managed optimally, vendor and customer relationships are nurtured with professionalism, and financial transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently. The AR & AP Manager leads a dedicated team, implements best practices, ensures compliance with policies and regulations, and contributes to the organization’s broader financial strategies. Overview

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities: Accounts Receivable (AR) Management

Oversee the entire AR process, including invoicing, cash application, credit management, and collections. Monitor aging reports, identify overdue accounts, and implement effective collection strategies to minimize delinquencies and bad debt. Coordinate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes. Evaluate and approve credit limits for new and existing customers, ensuring adherence to company policies and risk mitigation standards. Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger and ensure timely posting of all transactions. Accounts Payable (AP) Management

Oversee the AP cycle, including invoice processing, payment runs, vendor reconciliations, and expense report approvals. Maintain strong relationships with vendors by ensuring timely and accurate payments, and resolving any issues or discrepancies efficiently. Review and authorize payments, ensuring compliance with internal controls and approval matrices. Manage the AP subledger, ensuring accurate recording and posting of all transactions to the general ledger. Negotiate payment terms, early payment discounts, and manage cash outflows to support company liquidity. Process Improvement & Automation

Evaluate and enhance AR/AP processes for greater efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Collaborate with IT and finance leadership to implement automation tools and ERP systems upgrades. Stay current on industry best practices and recommend process changes to improve departmental performance and reduce manual workloads. Compliance & Internal Controls

Ensure all financial operations adhere to corporate policies, accounting regulations, GAAP/IFRS standards, and audit requirements. Maintain and update internal controls for AR/AP processes, and lead periodic audits to ensure compliance and integrity of records. Prepare and submit required reports for internal and external audits, regulatory filings, and management reviews. Reporting & Analysis

Prepare and analyse weekly, monthly, and quarterly AR/AP reports, highlighting key trends, KPIs, and areas for improvement. Provide cash flow forecasts, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), DPO (Days Payable Outstanding), and other relevant metrics to senior management. Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the timely completion and accuracy of all related tasks. Stakeholder Collaboration

Serve as the primary liaison between the AR/AP department and other finance/business/operations teams Address inquiries from internal and external stakeholders with timely answers and solutions. Team Management

Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of AR/AP professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Effectively manage team members working both on-site and remotely, ensuring clear communication, alignment of goals, and equitable workload distribution. Foster a culture aligned with Socomec values, emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning. Essential Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Strong understanding of financial statements, GAAP/IFRS, and internal controls. Familiarity with multinational operations, foreign currency transactions, and intercompany reconciliations. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Leadership: Ability to motivate and guide teams, drive performance, and cultivate a positive workplace culture.
