(Relocation Assistance Available) Gromelski and Associates, Inc. (GAI) partners with prime contractors to provide professional services. Key service areas include Engineering Design and Documentation; Software Development and Testing; System Integration, Testing and Evaluation; Lab Management and Field Installation; Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support. This role provides Firmware support to the Hardware Engineering team with the following responsibilities and skill set: Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test firmware for FPGA embedded systems. Write and review code in Hardware Description Languages (HDL) such as VHDL and Verilog. Develop and maintain technical documentation for firmware designs and implementations. Hands-on work on systems to test, debug, and reverse engineer firmware solutions. Ensure firmware compatibility with new hardware or software releases. Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure firmware-hardware compatibility. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements. Communicate technical information and design decisions to non-technical stakeholders. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. Engineer Required Skills

Understanding of digital electronics, including circuit analysis and design. Working experience with hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog. Experience with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG. Knowledge of PCB design and layout principles. Engineer Highly Desirable Skills

Experience with Intel (Quartus) and Xilinx (Vivado) Design Tools. Understanding of embedded systems architecture and design principles. Familiarity with microcontrollers, processors, and digital communication protocols. Additional Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline or equivalent experience and at least five years of professional experience. Must be able to obtain and keep a DoD Secret Clearance which means you must be a U.S. Citizen. Task-driven with ability to work independently.
