STC is seeking a Programmer Analyst III to provide technical expertise for scientific software development under the ATMOS contract at NASA GSFC. This mid-level role focuses on developing, testing, and documenting scientific algorithms and models that process data from orbital and sub-orbital instruments. ATMOS is a NASA support services contract that provides advanced scientific, engineering, and technical expertise to enable Earth and space science missions. The program supports research, data analysis, technology development, and mission operations across multiple NASA centers. Through ATMOS, our teams deliver innovative solutions that help advance NASA’s mission and expand scientific discovery. Key Responsibilities Include:

Design and optimize algorithms for atmospheric science applications. Support large-scale data assimilation and predictive modeling. Document and maintain scientific code for reproducibility. Collaborate with scientists on computational experiments and publications. Benefits:

6+ years of experience in scientific programming and analysis. Proficiency in FORTRAN, C/C++, Python, MPI, and object-oriented programming. Experience with MATLAB, IDL, or shell-based scripting. Strong background in atmospheric science or Earth science. Education:

M.S. in atmospheric science, physical science, mathematics, or computer science, or B.S. degree in one of the listed disciplines, plus three years of experience relevant to the position.
