GIS Technician

GIS Technician Our client is seeking a GIS Technician to support transmission line projects within the utility sector. This role is well-suited for individuals with a background in GIS, remote sensing, or geospatial applications who are interested in applying their skills to large-scale infrastructure initiatives. The position offers opportunities to collaborate with engineers and analysts, contribute to accurate data management, and expand technical expertise, including potential training on PLS-CADD. This role is fully onsite for training. A hybrid work schedule may be considered based on performance. Support the modeling and updating of transmission lines (69kV–550kV) using GIS software and, when applicable, PLS-CADD. Incorporate remotely sensed data, such as LiDAR, into existing mapping and design workflows. Perform data management, quality assurance, and spatial analysis tasks to ensure accuracy and consistency. Collaborate with project teams to integrate geospatial data into engineering and planning efforts. GIS Technician Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience in GIS, remote sensing, or related geospatial work. Familiarity with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or PLS-TOWER preferred, with training available for qualified candidates. Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS, with CAD experience in MicroStation considered a plus. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and teamwork skills.
