Job Summary The Senior Manager, Global Contract Operations, is a strategic leader within the Legal Operations team. This role oversees and sets direction for Contract Administration & Operations across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. It manages a high-performing global team, driving operational excellence and optimizing contract management through advanced AI-enabled technologies for efficient, accurate contract execution. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in contract operations, technology integration, and stakeholder management, and consistently delivers business results and continuous improvement.
Job Description Essential Responsibilities
Oversee the contract administration process from negotiation to execution.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Manage contract renewals, amendments, and terminations.
Review and approve contract drafts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve contract-related issues.
Provide guidance on contract risk management and mitigation strategies.
Maintain organized records of all contracts and related documentation.
Monitor contract performance and enforce obligations as needed.
Qualifications Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience: 7+ years in contract management, legal operations, or commercial law with experience in technology-driven contracting process transformation.
Contracting Acumen: Extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with strong contract law knowledge.
Technical Expertise: Proven track record of leveraging CLM systems with AI-powered contracting features.
Project Leadership: Strong program management skills for large-scale cross-functional initiatives.
Global Mindset: Experience managing multi-region teams within complex, matrixed organizations.
Analytical Skills: Data-driven decision-making with ability to interpret metrics and trends.
Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities capable of influencing at the executive level.
Preferred:
JD or equivalent legal qualification is strongly preferred.
Legal experience in commercial, technology, or corporate law; payments/fintech experience is a plus.
Knowledge of emerging AI applications in legal and contracting domains.
Team Leadership & Operational Oversight
Lead, develop, and mentor the Contract Administration & Operations team globally, driving improvements in contracting workflows and exploring AI and automation to reduce cycle times.
Directly oversee day-to-day operations of contract management systems (e.g., Apttus, Salesforce, Knowable, Sirion) and manage escalations related to contract intake, signatures, and approvals.
Ensure best-practice knowledge-sharing, smooth PTO handovers, and responsive support to internal clients.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting
Serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding contract status and inquiries.
Build cross-functional relationships across Legal, Sales, IT, Engineering, and external providers; deliver executive-level reports on contract performance, cycle times, risks, opportunities, and AI adoption in contract execution.
Continuous Improvement & Change Leadership
Lead initiatives to optimize contract operations, improve cycle times, and provide actionable insights to improve user experience.
Advise on redesign and optimization of contracting workflows to increase efficiency from intake to execution, including clause analysis, automated redlining, risk scoring, and playbook-guided negotiations.
Compensation & Benefits The US national annual pay range for this role is $111,500 to $191,950. PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation is based on location, skills, and experience. The total compensation may include annual incentive compensation, equity, and medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
