Contract & Grants Specialist
Frostburg State University (FSU), Office of Sponsored Programs, is accepting applications for a full-time, exempt Contract & Grants Specialist. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position includes the robust University System of Maryland benefits package, which is comprised of annual, personal, and sick leave, holidays, tuition remission, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, and retirement plans.
Responsibilities:
This position provides specialized technical assistance and staff support to departments related to the identification of funding opportunities, and preparation and processing of grant applications/project funding for local, State, and Federal projects. Also provides administrative support to IACUC and IRB. The successful candidate will have excellent organization, communication skills, and customer service skills with a proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Other work-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and four to six years of experience with grant proposal processes, opportunity identification and interpretation or other grant/contract related skills. Thorough knowledge of federal regulations and university policies and practices related to grants and contracts; experience in pre-award grants administration; strong organizational skills; ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to a wide variety of individuals at various levels within and outside the university; ability to interpret regulations and policies and apply them appropriately; ability to work independently; ability to multi-task and work under pressure; ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively; proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree. Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance. Experience with grants at an institution of higher education.
