Production Manager (1099338) at The Judge Group in Baltimore, MD. Salary: $80,000.00 USD Annually - $90,000.00 USD Annually. Description: Our food manufacturing client is seeking a Production Manager for a facility in Baltimore, MD. They would like someone with RTE meat slicing manufacturing experience. Any experience dealing with injecting, tumbling, racking, mixing, smoking and cooking meats would be a great fit. Small relocation is being offered. Responsibilities
Supervise production crews. Utilize World Class Manufacturing techniques to drive operational results and performance measures. Coach and lead work teams to achieve performance, quality, cost and service goals. Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and practices. Administrative duties related to production/quality performance. Promote and drive continuous improvement programs using common problem-solving tools and methodologies for root cause analysis and resolution of issues. Plan and organize day-to-day manufacturing operations and schedules for Production as it pertains to Meat Preparation through Packing (e.g., Trimming, Injecting, Mixing Brine, Packing, record keeping) based on department needs. Coordinate alignment and prioritization between production and support teams. Ensure team members are trained and understand duties, responsibilities, and performance expectations. Provide timely coaching, counseling, and feedback. Develop line personnel through training, mentoring, and progressively challenging responsibilities within the team and department. Foster positive employee relations with floor presence, regular open communications, and knowledge sharing. Qualifications & Requirements
4-year college degree in Food Science, Management, Manufacturing or related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in a meat (further processing) environment. 2+ years of experience in direct supervision in a manufacturing environment. Understanding of manufacturing regulations regarding safety, quality, HACCP and GMPs. Experience with plant safety programs. Excellent organizational skills with initiative and flexibility. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills. Proven ability to define performance measures related to the business and hold associates accountable. Ability to analyze cost performance data to improve operations and reduce costs. Willingness to work primarily on the 2nd shift, with some day and weekend work. Comfort with giving and receiving open feedback. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Proactive, risk-taker, courageous, and adaptable to change. BRC knowledge is a plus. Bilingual – English/Spanish is a plus.
