Drive a 10% reduction in scrapped units in the 26ml, 10ml, 3ml manufacturing lines Lead multifunctional teams for the development of new high speed automated equipment for the manufacturing of medical devices Carries out the responsibilities of an authority on development, fixing, and maintenance of high speed automated equipment within the organization Analyze product designs for manufacture, assembly, and serviceability Develop, complete, and document FMEA, process validation, and testing following cGMP guidelines Ensure that safety, quality, delivery and costs are monitored and managed to meet site specific metrics Oversee all aspects related to safety procedures and identify/communicate the necessary adjustments to address potential safety concerns, including the proper use of PPE Work with BD production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure that goals are met Maintain primary communication of performance goals and requirements identified by management Lead CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to address systemic issues in the manufacturing and quality systems Education And Experience
BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Technology, or a related Engineering field, or equivalent experience FDA regulated environment experience 5+ years of experience managing capital and automation projects in all phases from concept to launch (production phase). With a strong track record of crafting arguments to support investments and monitor project performance and implementation Strong Project Management skills with the use of MS Project and Share Point Strong interpersonal and communication skills to all levels in a world class organization Strong experience developing USR, FAT, SAT, CSV, IQ, OQ, PQ Validation Protocols 10+ years of relevant experience/hands on in Controls and Automation Engineering Extensive hands-on experience in programming, fixing, and software changes with the following technologies: Robots: FANUC, ABB, and Stäubli (strong experience with pick and place applications) Rockwell Automation Software: Studio 5000 (RSLogix 5000), Factory Talk Machine Edition/Site Edition, etc. ServoMotion Controls System as Kinetix ServoDrives or similar Advanced process control as Fuzzy Logic, PID Function and Functional Charts Language, Ethernet-IP / TCP-IP Networks PC Software programming experience including C++, C#, SQL Server, Visual Basic Development and programming Vision Systems using Cognex and Keyence Product and parts identification including RFID and Barcoding Strong experience with electrical and mechanical design
to create and interpret schematics, solid/3D models, mechanical drawings, and mechanical bills of materials Controls Panel Design/Creation; develop electrical bill of materials Experience with high speed assembly of plastic components using Ultrasonic Welding, RF Forming and welding, UV systems, EFD dispensing systems, among others Six Sigma Training and experience preferred Bilingual English and Spanish highly desirable At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving.
