Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division is seeking an Engineer for our Mossville, Illinois facility. This role creates, implements and improves engineering designs, processes, techniques, tooling and machinery to meet customer requirements and maximize product quality. This role will work to develop and implement remanufacturing processes and plans for high voltage electric motors, motor controls and power inverter systems utilized on Caterpillar machines. The Reman Electronics team supports a wide range of products including electronic controls, displays, starters, alternators, power inverters, high and low voltage motors, and generators. Responsibilities
Detailed engineering analysis to determine remanufacturing feasibility for electrical motors, motor controls and power inverters utilized on Caterpillar products Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, purchasing, manufacturing) to provide remanufactured solutions that meet cost and quality requirements Develop component design and process improvements supporting the remanufacture of motors, motor controls and power inverters Participate in the adoption of new technologies and processes into our Reman facilities or partners to achieve increased salvage levels, cost reduction and quality improvement Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required Skills You Will Have
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, prioritizing and allocating time effectively. Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts. Product Design - MFG: Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design. Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production. Top Candidates Will Have
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering Professional working experience designing, developing or validating medium to high voltage motors, motor controls, or power inverters Experience developing or validating SR (Switched Reluctance) motors and controls Knowledge of electric motor design, testing and manufacturing processes Experience developing product validation and/or manufacturing end-of-line test plans Fundamental understanding of mobile machine operation, ideally construction equipment and operations Experience with FMEA processes and a basic knowledge of electronic system failure modes Additional Information

Summary Pay Range: $110,520.00 - $165,840.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job level, market location, knowledge, skills, performance and experience. Salary is one component of total compensation. Benefits
