Axis Engineering is dedicated to designing and developing assembly solutions, metal forming and inspection fixtures. To help us drive excellence, as a General Laborer you’ll get to: Lifts metal part or stock onto machine and secures it on the machine table, in chuck, or holding fixture. Performs manual bench-type tasks such as sawing, filing, grinding, milling, drilling, painting, etc. Removes burrs and excess metal from machined parts. Inspects parts, components visually for quality defects such as scrap marks, rust, burrs, etc. Inspects and ensures parts, components, and assemblies meet specifications. Labels and/or tags parts and baskets. Monitors machine operations for malfunctions or problems and notifies supervisor or maintenance immediately upon discovery. Performs routine and preventative maintenance and setup work to maintain machines according to schedules, which may require repairing, replacing, and lubricating parts. Run production and/or service parts as necessary. Assist the Quality department as necessary. Delivers metal parts or stock to designated work areas for machining. Make deliveries or pick-ups when needed. Collect or distribute heat treat items. Maintains an orderly large item incoming/outgoing area at the machine shop, including handling die sets, parallels, finished products, and pallets. Responsible for snow and ice removal; sidewalks, entrances, between buildings. Responsible for grounds; scrap removal (shipping driveway), landscape debris. Dump steel and aluminum scrap (daily check). Dump shop trash container (daily). Role Details
Reporting : This full-time role is part of our Operations Department and reports to the Manufacturing Manager. Qualifications
Must be able to safely operate forklift. Must be able to safely operate overhead cranes. High level of commitment and ability and willingness to learn. Adaptive to a fast-paced environment. Ability to work well with others in a team environment. Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations. Education and/or Experience
High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience. Working conditions
