Senior Structural Engineer
(Houston, TX | Hybrid | $175K–$240K + Employee Stock Options) Our Client , a global leader in heavy-load handling and positioning systems, is seeking a
Senior/Lead/Principal Structural Engineer
to join its Houston-based engineering team. This is a
hybrid
role (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) with real leadership visibility—and a rare opportunity to work for a company with an incredible retention rate. This role will place you at the center of highly engineered projects supporting the offshore oil & gas, marine, and shipbuilding industries.
Key Must-Haves
RISA-3D mastery is REQUIRED
– If you’re not fluent in it, this role isn’t a fit.
8+ years of experience in
heavy steel design
Strong grasp of
AISC steel codes ,
non-linear FEA , and structural load analysis
Solid modeling experience in
SolidWorks
or similar 3D design tools
Fluent English communication skills – verbal and written
Bonus Skills That’ll Make You Stand Out
Design experience with
large fabricated plate girders
and complex
steel connections
Foundation design
for mounted equipment on offshore platforms
Familiarity with
hydraulic systems ,
ANSYS ,
MathCAD ,
AutoCAD/DraftSight
Exposure to
certifying bodies
like ABS, DNVGL, Lloyd’s, etc.
Deep understanding of
AISC, ANSI, ASTM
codes
What You'll Be Doing
Design and analyze innovative systems and modify existing structures
Develop and run
complex structural models + FEA analysis
Select materials and components for equipment and subassemblies
Collaborate closely with engineering leaders in review and refinement
Own the technical performance of designs from concept to completion
