Overview

WSP is seeking a full-time Ports and Marine Engineer to support our Ports and Maritime Team across multiple offices in the U.S. The Marine group includes analysts, planners, and civil and structural engineers working for port authorities, the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, terminal operators, contractors, and private entities. The projects are diverse, interesting, and challenging within waterfront structural design. Responsibilities

Perform civil/structural design for marine and upland components under supervision of senior ports and marine engineers Prepare technical written communications in the form of memoranda and reports Support managers in creating plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates in accordance with client requirements Collaborate with team to ensure work product meets scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements Perform design calculations in support of broader engineering activities Work with cross-functional teams to execute project work Assist with work plan preparation and coordination of site work and code compliance Complete training on assigned tasks Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 3-5 years of relevant post-education experience Familiarity with marine, port, and civil/structural engineering principles and their application to project work Familiarity with relevant marine, port, and coastal construction codes, regulations, and compliance practices Analytical mindset with sound judgment Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences Ability to work independently or as part of a team Basic proficiency with technical writing, engineering software, spreadsheets, and other tools Experience with discipline-specific design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs Preferred Qualifications

Engineer in Training Certification Prior design experience Active participation in local professional practice organizations Experience in marine upland facilities design Field investigation or construction support experience Hands-on design experience Commercial dive license (ADCI or DCBC) in addition to other qualifications Benefits

Expected Salary (all locations): $77,000-125,000. WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range and to offer additional benefits based on circumstances not related to a candidate’s protected status. About WSP
