Overview
Position: SRE Manager Location: San Ramon, CA (onsite) Employment type: Contract Company: Synstack Technologies Responsibilities
A Site Reliability Engineer acts to monitor, protect customer applications, and take charge of operational tasks to ensure the efficient functioning of a system. They are responsible for monitoring, automating, and improving the reliability, performance, and availability of applications. Lead SRE activities at the customer site in an e-commerce/retail domain. Maintain working knowledge of Production Application Support. Provide Level 1, 2, and 3 support for eCommerce platforms (Shopify, Blue Yonder, or other e-commerce solutions). Hands-on experience in Monitoring, Logging, Alerting, Dashboarding, and report generation using tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, New Relic; experience with NewRelic and PagerDuty is beneficial. Apply SRE principles including logs, metrics, availability metrics, uptime, ticket tracking, ITIL framework (Alerts, Incident, Change Management, CAB, Production Deployments, Risk and Mitigation, SLA, SLI). Lead P1 calls, brief customers on P1 status, and proactively gather leads into P1 calls until RCA is established. Work with Postman for API testing. Develop and execute SOPs and runbooks; manage ITSM platforms (JIRA, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy). Collaborate with Development teams and cross-functional teams across time zones. Generate WSR/MSR by extracting tickets from ITSM platforms and present findings to customers and L7 leaders. Qualifications
Experience as SRE Lead or Techno-functional SRE at a customer location in an e-commerce/retail domain. Working knowledge of Production Application Support. Strong knowledge of Level 1, 2, and 3 support in eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, Blue Yonder, or other e-commerce solutions. Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboarding using common tools. Knowledge of SRE principles, ITIL framework, and related processes (Alerts, Incident, Change Management, CAB, Production deployments, risk and mitigation, SLA, SLI). Ability to lead P1 communications and coordinate with customers through RCA. Familiarity with Postman and ITSM platforms (JIRA/ServiceNow/BMC Remedy). Strong collaboration skills with Dev and cross-functional teams across time zones. Ability to produce and present WSR/MSR reports to customers and senior leaders.
