Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Bookkeeper/Office Manager
to oversee the financial and administrative operations of our
union carpentry construction firm . This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate bookkeeping, managing payroll, handling accounts payable/receivable, and supporting day-to-day office functions. The Bookkeeper/Office Manager will work closely with ownership to maintain strong financial controls and ensure smooth business operations. Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Oversee union payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with union requirements.
Handle job costing, project accounting, and construction-related financial reporting.
Prepare and maintain financial records, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end reporting.
Coordinate with outside accountants, auditors, and vendors as needed.
Provide administrative and office management support to streamline daily business operations.
Report directly to ownership and provide timely updates on financial performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ( CPA ).
Minimum
7 years of accounting experience , ideally within construction or a unionized environment.
