BENEN is seeking a Mid-Level Traffic Engineer to join and help lead our expanding team of design professionals in Sacramento. This position offers the opportunity to work on various public infrastructure and private development projects, including Traffic Signal Designs, Roadway Lighting Design, Intelligent Transportation System, Pedestrian/Roadway Safety, Multi-modal Operations, Signing, Pavement Delineation, and Work Zone Traffic Control.
Responsibilities
Work with a team of engineers and technicians designing and producing a variety of traffic engineering projects.
Prepare plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, ramp metering, transportation electrical systems, signing, pavement delineation, and construction stage traffic handling.
Perform work under an agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Manage and execute traffic engineering projects under the supervision of a Senior Traffic Engineer; prepare technical reports and manage project timelines and budgets.
Qualifications
BS in Civil or Electrical Engineering
Registered as a Professional Engineer in Civil, Electrical, or Traffic Engineering in California is preferred but not required.
3+ years of experience in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, ramp metering, transportation electrical systems, signing, pavement delineation, and construction stage traffic handling.
Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation; knowledge of Synchro/SimTraffic, VISUAL, and AutoTurn is preferred.
