Overview

The Facilities Specialist will be responsible to support all general assembly engineering activities carried out at a vehicle assembly plant. This individual is the lead responsible for maintaining the plant ACAD layout for equipment installations and facilities infrastructure (power/air/structural). The Facilities Specialist will manage making accurate field observations, measurements and converting information supplied from vendors into the overall composite plant layout for General Assembly. This person will be responsible for preparing the Master Timing plan with all assembly activities, in Microsoft Project. The facility specialist will also support he preparation of meeting minutes, reports, PowerPoint presentations and will be responsible for storage of program documentation within the clients document control system. Key Responsibilities

CAD layout development, proofing, and publishing Develop and write scopes of works for contractor quoting (must know power requirements, air requirements, capacity of tooling, etc.) including: Demolition, installations, power drops, construction Perform field checks of existing equipment, tooling, and facilities Conduct contractor walkthroughs for quoting scopes Review and approve steel drawings submitted by contractors Review and approve installation drawings submitted by OEMs for release to contractors Manage installations for tooling, equipment, facilities, etc. Ensure systems meet required cycle times; eliminate sources of downtime and micro stops Lead daily launch construction meetings Manage progress reports to master plan; address variances to schedule Mandatory Skills and Proficiencies

Minimum Education: High School Diploma Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing facility 2D and 3D layout experience is a must, successful candidate will have proven AutoCAD skills Strong computer skills - particularly in Microsoft suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Project Excellent communication skills - both orally and in writing Outstanding problem solving/analytical skills required Demonstrated project management experience Optional Skills and Proficiencies

Experience in automotive assembly plants Automotive experience with launching new models Familiarity with relevant equipment including ergonomic arms, torque tubes, lift assists, and associated steel frame & rail design Experience working with plant skilled trades, and installation skilled trades working under the NMA; Experience working with Bargaining Unit Employees Specialized Software: Teamcenter, Autodesk (Inventor, AutoCAD, Navisworks) Submission Details
