Job Description As an Assistant Store Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and strategic direction of our store catering to our customer’s needs. This position reports directly to the Store Manager and requires a dynamic and results-driven individual with a deep understanding of the market and merchandise, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

Operational Management : Supervise and coordinate daily store activities, ensuring operational efficiency; maintain optimal stock levels and inventory control; implement and enforce store policies and procedures; oversee and optimize the hardware, yard, and power equipment (HYPE) departments.

Customer Service : Foster a customer-centric environment; address inquiries and concerns promptly; develop and maintain strong relationships with landscapers and contractors.

Team Leadership : Recruit, train, and supervise store staff; foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Sales and Marketing : Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue and exceed targets; collaborate with marketing to execute promotions and enhance brand visibility.

Financial Management : Monitor store budgets and expenses; maximize gross margin and exceed KPI goals; prepare sales/expenses reports; implement cost-effective measures to improve profitability.

Safety and Compliance : Ensure health and safety regulation compliance; implement security measures; stay informed about industry regulations.

Inventory Management : Oversee ordering, receiving, and stock levels; conduct regular inventory audits; minimize stockouts and overstock; maintain inventory turn and reduce shrinkage.

Merchandising : Develop and execute merchandising strategies; ensure displays are visually appealing and aligned with brand; collaborate with suppliers to introduce new products and improve placement.

Store Appearance : Maintain a clean, organized store environment; enforce cleanliness standards; address issues related to signage and displays.

Strategic Planning : Collaborate with Store Manager, COO, and Senior Leadership to execute strategic plans; provide input on product selection, pricing, and merchandising strategies.

Required Qualifications

Experience as Retail Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager

Excellent leadership skills

Strong knowledge of POS systems (Paladin preferred but not required)

Good Math Skills

Strong communication and customer relationship skills

Customer satisfaction-oriented

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and handle up to 70 pounds

Compensation Determined based on experience
