Job Description
A Senior Flammability Engineer provides leadership to a project, guides the creation of flammability substantiation reports, and ensures first-time quality. The role requires a good relationship with customers and a clear understanding of their expectations in terms of technical documentation. Reviews technical specifications for the project, including delivery matrices, customer finish specifications, and general arrangement engineering drawings. Participates in design reviews, supporting the design team and identifying potential problematic material combinations. Prepares flammability substantiation documents, such as test plans and reports, to show compliance with regulatory requirements. Conducts peer reviews of test plans and reports for quality and accuracy. Coordinates new program resources with design engineers, program managers, and production managers. Reviews engineering drawings, ensuring that new designs or changes are approved and compliant with flammability regulations. Exercises discretion and independent judgment, providing oversight of the flammability test coupons and ensuring the flammability database is maintained and up-to-date. Job Requirements
BS or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering, or equivalent training, preferred. 5-8 years of experience in aerospace flammability. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Access, and PowerPoint. Proven ability to lead others, provide guided direction, and feedback. Project Management and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently or within a team, with exceptional communication skills. Understanding of customer expectations and ability to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under pressure. Company Information
