: January 2024 Summary: This position serves will work closely with the Legal Department’s transactions team and business operations for Aaron’s and BrandsMart to review, analyze, negotiate, and draft a wide range of contracts in support of all aspects of Company operations, including, including procurement, sales, franchise, supply-chain, and others. This position may also provide support for M&A and real estate transactions. The position reports to the Associate General Counsel – Transactions and collaborates closely with stakeholders across the Company. Duties and Responsibilities: Along with the Contracts Specialist, serve as first point of contact for most internal clients requesting any type of commercial contract assistance, including with NDAs, procurement, franchise, contract amendments, and other commercial contract-related matters of all types that arise in connection with the Company’s business. Review, analyze, redline, draft, and, as appropriate, negotiate a broad variety of contracts, licenses, professional services agreements, licenses, and other commercial transactions. Provide legal and business advice with regard to enterprise-wide contract negotiations for goods and services, including IT hardware and software, open source, data, technology, equipment, telecommunications, facilities, outsourcing, professional services and consulting agreements. Support strategic initiatives and transactions, including M&A and real estate transactions. Management and supervision of support staff and outside counsel. Special Projects as requested by the Associate General Counsel – Transactions, the Deputy General Counsel, or the General Counsel. Education and Experience: 3+ years of prior experience, including law firm experience with some prior in-house counsel (or similar experience thereto) preferred.

At least 3 years prior experience involving commercial contract review, analysis, and drafting.

Must be licensed attorney who graduated from an ABA accredited law school. Required Skills: Specific knowledge of commercial contracts of all types. Attention to detail, with excellent negotiating, drafting, and practice-management skills and business judgment. Demonstrated analytical ability to proactively identify legal and business risks and provide timely, creative, business-oriented solutions thereto. Ability to effectively communicate information and advice to management in field, Company associates, and members of Senior Management respectively.
