Overview
Sr Manager, Privacy Operations – United States – California – Foster City. Regular position in Legal & Compliance at Gilead. Gilead is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager to lead the Privacy Operations function within the global Privacy and Data Ethics (PDE) team. This role focuses on enhancing privacy operations, implementing and maintaining privacy programs, and enabling scalable data protection across global teams and functions. Responsibilities
Operationalize and maintain privacy compliance frameworks aligned with global regulations. Own and administer privacy management platforms and associated processes (e.g., OneTrust, BigID, ServiceNow, GRC tools). Develop dashboards, metrics, and reports to track compliance activity and program health. Partner with IT and Security to integrate privacy controls and requirements into enterprise systems and vendor processes. Coordinate intake and tracking of privacy requests, risk assessments, and operational tasks. Support DSAR and ROPA processes by ensuring workflows, templates, and tracking mechanisms are up to date. Manage process documentation, SOPs, and playbooks for PDE team operations. Support maintenance of privacy policies, notices, and training content in systems of record. Support rollout of scalable training, awareness, and guidance materials across global teams to foster a culture of data protection. Ensure consistent execution of PDE processes across regions and business functions. Desired Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years in privacy operations, compliance operations, or GRC functions, including program or systems ownership; or 6 years with a master's degree. Understanding of global privacy regulations. Proficiency with privacy management platforms (OneTrust, BigID, TrustArc, ServiceNow, or equivalent). Ability to translate manual processes into streamlined, tech-enabled workflows. Strong project management and process design skills. Certifications such as CIPM, CIPT, CIPP, or CISSP desirable. Comfortable working with IT, Security, and business teams to operationalize requirements. Skilled at producing clear, actionable dashboards and reports for leadership. Strong interpersonal skills with experience in a global, matrixed environment. Self-starter, detail-oriented, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities. Bias for action in solving privacy challenges through innovative technology solutions. Effective oral and written communication; collaborative team player. People Leader Accountabilities

Salary range for this position: $146,540.00 - $189,640.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary by role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
