Join our Global Supply Management team as a Category Manager-Electronics Technology, where you utilize your strong track record of delivering results in a matrixed organization, where collaboration with diverse individuals, teams, and skill sets is essential for success. You will partner and lead several categories in electronics, including: Semiconductors, BLE/wireless chips, modules, and software/programming categories. You will utilize your negotiation skills, technical aptitude, and relationship-building abilities. As the Category Manager, you will understand global markets for raw materials and possess technical expertise in secondary processes to develop global strategies that leverage Medtronic’s global purchasing power and deliver cost-effective and innovative solutions to each operating unit within our network. Additionally, you will focus on multiple tiers in your supplier’s supply chain to maximize leverage and awareness, ensuring compliance and continuity. Responsibilities

Advocate on behalf of the supply management function with operating units and operational partners to ensure support for core business objectives

Prepare and manage complex contract negotiations with new or existing suppliers to facilitate favorable terms

Own and execute negotiations in collaboration with business partners (e.g., SaaS, ELAs, cloud commitments, license agreements), using advanced levers like benchmarking, financial modeling, and usage forecasting

Identify and develop business cases for a healthy year-over-year cost reduction pipeline with suppliers through lean, should costing, process improvement, tier 2 strategies, and yield improvements

Perform market analysis to identify best cost country sourcing for the category, provide guidance to technical sourcing and engineering with supplier innovations, and proactively develop forward buy agreements where appropriate

Utilize technical and commercial knowledge of the end-to-end embedded software/firmware market to define and manage winning category strategies and approaches with suppliers

Manage supplier relationships and drive year-over-year performance improvements in quality, delivery, and costs to ensure governance and continuous improvement

Use IT knowledge (cloud infrastructure, software licensing, SaaS models, cybersecurity, IT service agreements) to analyze quotations and select or recommend new suppliers

Lead end-to-end supplier lifecycle management, including onboarding, performance optimization, and offboarding, with a focus on risk mitigation and value creation

Rationalize existing supplier base through stratification, market analysis, supplier development, and supplier consolidation

Support supplier quality audit activities to ensure robust process controls and capabilities to meet Medtronic requirements

Conduct supply chain risk reviews

Act independently to prescribe methods and new approaches for new and special assignments

Identify and utilize metrics, tools, business intelligence, and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier activities

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree required

Minimum of 5 years of relevant category management experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant category management experience

Nice to Have

Highly skilled in developing and executing negotiation strategies with strong organizational and collaboration skills

Understanding of wireless technologies, including BLE, NFC, and WiFi

Experience developing category strategies, performing complex contract reviews and negotiations, lean manufacturing, business case development, Best Cost Country sourcing, and regulatory environment experience with strong presentation skills

Experience using lean methodologies in a manufacturing environment

Experience in low-volume, high-mix product environments

Negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Good organization, project management, and follow-through skills

Ability to prioritize, multitask, and act proactively

Microsoft Excel, analytics, and SAP experience preferred

Ability to travel to vendor locations (domestic and international)

Salary ranges for U.S. locations (USD): $110,400.00 - $165,600.00. The base salary range applies across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and certain California locations.
