Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Strategic Management

The Rozanne and Billy Rosenthal Department of Management at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin is hiring

two

tenure-track faculty positions in Strategic Management

to join in the fall of 2026. While our primary focus will be on candidates nearing completion of their Ph.D. who are applying for an Assistant Professor position, both positions are open rank and we encourage strong senior candidates to apply as well. We are a comprehensive department with regard to research topics and methodologies. Current members include Professors Caroline Bartel (Chair), Ethan Burris, Janet Dukerich, David Harrison, Luis Martins, Francisco Polidoro, and Metin Sengul; Associate Professors Steven Gray, Andrew Henderson, Shefali Patil, and Ram Ranganathan; and Assistant Professors Shiva Agarwal, Andrew Brodsky, Constantinos Coutifaris, Natalie Croitoru, Paul Green, Insiya Hussain, Harsh Ketkar, and Cha Li. The Rosenthal Department is housed within the McCombs School of Business, a top-ranked institution that aims to be the highest-impact public research business school. It offers excellent research support through its PhD program, graduate and undergraduate assistants, and extensive funding. The department hosts several centers and institutes, including the Center for Leadership and Ethics, Harkey Institute for Undergraduate Entrepreneurial Studies, Herb Kelleher Entrepreneurship Center, Jon Brumley Institute for Graduate Entrepreneurship, Texas Venture Labs, and the Kendra Scott Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute. Additionally, it runs the school’s one-year Master of Science in Technology Commercialization (MSTC) Program. Austin’s vibrant business community offers excellent research opportunities, with strong ties to established firms and startups. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to conduct high-impact research in management and be capable of teaching undergraduate, MBA, and/or executive courses. A Ph.D. (or near completion) from an accredited institution is required, with full completion by the time of appointment. Application Instructions
