Position Summary
Teach with Purpose:
Our teachers play a key role in bringing to life the academic and cultural visions of our schools, including daily lesson planning, intentional curriculum design, and regular data analysis to support student growth. Teachers also implement Social Emotional Learning lessons and Restorative Practices to create a joyful, inclusive classroom community. Support and Collaboration:
Teachers work closely with the school’s Leadership Team, including their Instructional Coach, to ensure students are learning and growing, including weekly meetings and ongoing feedback to improve instructional practices. Commitment to Anti-Racism:
We are committed to creating an anti-racist school community. We engage in ongoing development to reflect on our identities and experiences and how they shape us as people, educators, and leaders. We regularly analyze our systems, academics, culture, data, and progress to address community needs and make changes as an anti-racist organization. Qualifications and Experience
Preferred Qualifications Experience:
Experience as an educator teaching students with demographics similar to our student community. Education: Hold a B.A./B.S. degree from a regionally accredited institution Meet one of the following eligibility requirements: Hold a valid teaching credential in Math, or Eligibility for a General Education Limited Assignment Permit, or Eligibility for a Provisional Internship Permit, or Eligibility for a Short Term Staff Permit Knowledge/skills required: Commitment to KIPP mission and anti-racist education Belief that all students can achieve at high levels Strong content area knowledge Ability to build relationships with students, families, and communities Effective communication with students, families, and colleagues Proficient knowledge of Google Suite (Classroom, Hangouts, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) Ability to learn and use instructional technology to support in-class and distance learning (e.g., Zoom, Nearpod) Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Daily lesson planning and long-term planning aligned to KIPP’s academic vision and goals Analyze data regularly to identify student trends and inform instruction Maintain a positive, warm, inclusive, rigorous, and engaging classroom environment with Restorative Practices and Social Emotional Learning Implement culturally responsive classroom management to create a safe learning environment Communicate regularly with staff, students, families, and stakeholders to foster strong partnerships Attend and engage in weekly Professional Development and Communities of Practice Update student records, including attendance, grades, and behavior data Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands
Physical:
Ability to navigate school and classroom settings, access and use technology, and occasionally lift/carry equipment (1-20 lbs). Mental:
Ability to handle deadlines and normal work standards, analyze problems, manage interruptions, concentrate for long periods, read, and perform routine math problems. Environmental:
School and classroom environment with potential interruptions; adhere to KIPP’s health and safety guidelines per CDC, CDE, and public health recommendations. Classification:
This is a full-time, exempt position on a school year calendar, located at our school sites. Compensation and How to Apply
