Oversees and manages the catering department to provide quality guest services and experiences

Essential Job Functions
Manages all aspects of catering event planning including, but not limited to; details, internal and external contract negotiations, menu planning, specialty menus, staffing, operating procedures and equipment needs
Plans and communicates with special events team regarding internal and external operations
Coordinates with catering team and external vendors to maintain event fluidity
Directs staff members on catering event duties and responsibilities
Oversees all catering event aspects, including, but not limited to; the delivery and transportation, setup, service, event breakdown and equipment retrieval
Monitors progress to maintain that catering events are delivered on time and within budget
Evaluates and reviews each catering event with catering and special events teams
Oversees production and executes all internal and external catering events while supporting the needs of both catering and dining operations
Maintains all sanitation and appropriate food safety standards established by the university
Supervises and develops the department staff, facilitating professional opportunities to improve individual capability and managing performance against job accountabilities, department goals and established university, campus and department policies and procedures
Supervises and manages student employees, as necessary, to enhance their academic and professional development
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor\'s degree
Moderate amount of supervisory experience working in catering, front of the house, culinary arts or other related experience
Obtain and maintain food safety manager\'s certification approved by Conference for Food Protection (e.g., ServSafe)
Ability to work evening and weekends
