Senior Manager, Project and Construction Management

Senior Manager, Project and Construction Management
oversees all multi-site and complex construction obligations for Energy Services, managing multiple project managers and/or construction managers to meet project oversight responsibilities. This role may involve acting as the lead project manager on key projects in development or construction. Responsibilities include supervising project and construction managers, overseeing development, installation, operations, maintenance, and service activities within a matrix management structure. The manager is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reporting, managing subcontractor relationships, and supporting audit, proposal, and design development activities as needed. Additional duties are assigned by the Senior Director, Programs and Implementation. Role Responsibilities: Lead project management on key construction or development projects. Manage construction, installation, operation, maintenance, and service activities, including: Qualification of contractors, subcontractors, and equipment vendors. Utilization of specialized contractors (e.g., women-owned businesses). Implementation of bonding and insurance programs. Development and structuring of construction contracts. Development of OSHA and Environmental Health & Safety programs. Collaborate with engineering and project management teams for design optimization and value engineering. Oversee constructability reviews and post-construction evaluations. Supervise cost estimation, subcontract preparation, and procurement. Manage field project planning, scheduling, and quality control. Coordinate field construction project management activities. Administer construction contracts, financial and work-in-progress reporting, and risk management. Job Requirements and Experiences: Preferably hold an undergraduate degree in engineering or construction; advanced degrees or professional licenses are a plus. Formal project and construction management training or PMP certification preferred. General Contractors License preferred. Expertise in codes, permitting, and union issues. At least 10 years of progressive experience managing MEP construction projects. Experience supervising major projects ($10M+), ideally for Federal or Healthcare sectors. Experience with energy efficiency projects is a plus. Ability to identify and manage contracts with minority, small, or disadvantaged subcontractors. Previous budget, schedule, and quality management experience; MS Project skills preferred. Strong construction management, contract administration, and risk management skills. Excellent written communication skills (writing sample required). Leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with building energy systems, including HVAC, utilities, and electrical systems, as well as integration of design, construction, and operations of energy projects. Benefits offered:
