Exempt The
Senior Manager, Project and Construction Management
is responsible for overseeing all of the Energy Services’ multi-site and/or complex construction obligations. This role typically requires managing multiple project managers and/or construction managers to meet project oversight responsibilities and develop or execute major projects. The Manager may also serve as the lead project manager on key projects in development or construction. Responsibilities include direct oversight of project and construction managers, development, installation, operations, maintenance, and service activities under a matrix management structure. The successful candidate will manage all support activities necessary for successful construction completion, including alliances and subcontractor relationships. They will ensure timely and accurate reporting, assist with audits, proposals, and design development, and perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership. Role Responsibilities: Act as the lead project manager on key construction or development projects. Manage construction, installation, operation, maintenance, and service activities, including: Qualification of contractors, subcontractors, and equipment vendors. Utilization of specialized contractors (e.g., women-owned businesses) to meet contractual obligations. Implementation of bonding and insurance programs. Development and structuring of construction contracts. Development of OSHA, Environmental, Health & Safety programs. Collaborate with engineering and project management teams on design optimization and value engineering. Schedule and oversee constructability reviews and post-construction lessons learned. Supervise cost estimating, subcontract preparation, execution, and purchasing functions. Manage field-related project planning, scheduling, and quality control. Coordinate field construction project management activities. Oversee construction contract administration, financial reporting, work-in-progress, and risk management. Job Requirements and Experiences: Preferably an undergraduate degree in engineering or construction. Advanced degrees or professional engineering licenses are a plus. Formal project and construction management training or PMP certification preferred. General Contractors License preferred. Expertise in codes, permitting, and union issues. At least 10 years of progressive experience in managing and implementing MEP construction. Experience supervising at least 10 major projects ($10M or more), preferably for federal or healthcare sectors. Experience with energy efficiency projects is a plus. Experience in contract administration for minority, small, or disadvantaged subcontractors. Previous experience with budget, schedule, performance, and quality management; MS Project skills preferred. Strong construction management and risk mitigation skills. Excellent written communication skills (writing sample required). Leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Specific experience with building energy systems, including HVAC, utilities, and electrical systems, and energy project integration. Benefits offered:
