Overview
Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking a Middle School Musical Director for the Spring 2026 production. The Director collaborates extensively with the production team and cooperatively works with the Visual and Performing Arts Director to ensure a production of excellence. A holistic, team approach that supports MHS Sacred Values and reinforces the development of students’ social and emotional competencies is required. Responsibilities
Collaborate with the production team and the Visual and Performing Arts Director to plan, rehearse, and execute the Spring 2026 musical production. Lead rehearsals, provide constructive and encouraging feedback, and guide students to develop performance skills. Coordinate scheduling and logistics to ensure timely, high-quality productions aligned with MHS values and expectations. Support a positive, inclusive learning environment that respects diverse backgrounds and fosters student growth. Qualifications
High school diploma/GED equivalent; bachelor’s degree in theatre is a plus. Minimum 5 years of experience performing in high school or college groups. Minimum 5 years of experience instructing theatre including musicals. Demonstrated success in developing students’ performance skills. Experience leading rehearsals and providing constructive and encouraging feedback. Strong communication and leadership skills. Highly organized, reliable, and positive in outlook; inspires others to exemplify these traits. Skilled in scheduling. Proficient with Microsoft and Google applications. Commitment to high student achievement and support for all students in a diverse, multicultural environment. Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for students.
