Lead Executive Chef Status: Full-time, Direct-Hire Overview
The Lead Executive Chef will take charge of our culinary operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality prepared foods, catering orders, and grab-and-go selections. This individual will be responsible for upholding impeccable food quality, safety standards, and presentation while overseeing efficient and cost-effective kitchen procedures. The Lead Executive Chef will mentor and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a work culture defined by professionalism, innovation, and accountability. Responsibilities
Supervise the preparation and presentation of all menu items, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion control, and food safety guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment following health codes and company policies. Manage food and labor costs by effectively scheduling staff, providing training, and overseeing day-to-day operations to meet budget targets. Lead menu planning, recipe development, sourcing, and seasonal offerings while keeping abreast of culinary trends. Oversee daily kitchen operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and workflow coordination. Supervise food inventory, ordering, receiving, and storage procedures. Recruit, train, evaluate kitchen staff, and promote a positive work atmosphere. Collaborate with vendors, department managers, and staff to address operational challenges. Implement training programs to enhance staff skills and enforce culinary standards. Ensure staff compliance with safety protocols and maintain a sanitary work environment. Attend trade shows and vendor meetings to discover products aligning with customer preferences. Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or in a senior kitchen leadership role. Culinary Arts degree or equivalent certification preferred. Demonstrated expertise in culinary arts, including contemporary trends and global cuisines. Proven ability to manage food preparation, recipe design, and high-volume service. Strong leadership skills, capable of delegating tasks, motivating staff, and fostering teamwork. Knowledge of kitchen equipment, safety regulations, and health standards (HACCP/ServSafe). Experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring operational efficiency. Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a professional demeanor. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, inventory management, and recordkeeping.
