Business Unit Controller . This role is responsible for all accounting and controls associated with a growing business. Job Duties And Responsibilities Provide leadership for all aspects of accounting and controlling operations. Manage the monthly closing process to assure timely preparation of accurate financial information. Oversight of compiling and reporting financial information to the parent entity. Oversee Business Unit cash and banking activities. Review revenue recognition through work in place process. Establish and manage monthly monitoring of critical internal control activities. Drive productivity throughout the finance function. Maintain proficiency with regard to technical accounting considerations. Provide critical financial and operational information to executive management. Participate in special projects and ad hoc requests. Requirements BA degree in Finance or Accounting is required, CPA preferred. 15+ years of progressive management experience in accounting and finance in the construction industry. Thorough understanding of the full construction industry revenue recognition process. Construction operations experience preferred. Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work under minimal supervision, be proactive, and take initiative. Able to work in a complex fast-paced environment with many moving parts. Critical thinking and the capability to generate consistently accurate and useful reports. Strong attention to detail as well as an ability to achieve results through delegation.
