Primary duties involve supporting and administering Windows, Mac, and Linux-based user machines, web/data server rackmount systems, and related network infrastructure for space science research groups. The role supports expanding databases and data processing, coordinates software licensing, and assists with software development and programming for multi-instrument missions and related projects. The incumbent serves as the point of contact for end users with software or hardware IT issues. Administer Windows, Mac, and Linux-based client machines and related network infrastructure. Manage web/data server rackmount systems and associated processing/storage hardware. Implement best practices and standards in system design to support expanding databases and data processing. Coordinate software licensing and lifecycle management (e.g., GitHub, YouTrack, SVN, VMWare, LDAP/SSSD/SELinux integration, and other network administration tasks). Assist with software development and programming for multi-instrument, multi-spacecraft missions and related projects (as-needed). Serve as the point of contact for end users requiring assistance with software or hardware IT issues (faculty, staff, researchers, students). Qualifications

Scientific or engineering background. Working knowledge of VMware and Proxmox virtualization platforms and administration (Required). Advanced Windows, Linux, and UNIX systems administration skills (Required). Experience with system hardware components and interfaces (e.g., PCIe, SAS/SATA, M.2, RAM, fiber connections) (Required). Knowledge of network and VPN administration and security practices; experience with monitoring systems using SNMP, Ansible, SMART, etc. (Required). Experience with software development and deployment using containers, compilers, libraries, makefiles; familiarity with satellites mission operations and data analysis; relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL); Rust programming language; thermal simulations (Preferred). Knowledge of networking including CIDR subnetting and firewall rules (local and network ACLs) (Preferred). Enterprise account management via LDAP (AD, FreeIPA, OpenLDAP), RBAC, and system-level implementations (SSSD, SELinux) (Required). Advanced knowledge of Linux filesystems (e.g., ZFS on Linux, XFS, NFSv4), Linux hardware (LSI MegaRAID, storcli) and software (mdadm & ZFS) RAID (Required). Understanding of performance and scaling issues for large datasets (100TB to multiple petabytes) (Preferred). Knowledge of DevOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, and Docker orchestration (Required). Attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and good communication across organization levels (Required). Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience (Required). Note
