We are seeking a highly skilled
Flavor Applications Scientist
to join our Innovation Lab, specializing in vanilla extract applications across food and beverage systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on R&D professional with deep experience in formulation, sensory analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize vanilla-based flavor applications for baked goods, dairy, confections, beverages, and more. Lead R&D projects and communicate progress to internal stakeholders and customers. Create innovative flavor blends and product concepts aligned with market trends. Conduct sensory evaluations and participate in taste panels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Regulatory. Interface with customers via calls, video meetings, and in-person sessions. Travel to customer meetings, co-packers, and trade shows as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, Nutrition, or related technical field. 7-10 years of experience in Food R&D. Hands-on experience with bench-top formulation across frozen desserts, baked goods, beverages, etc. Proficient in lab practices and sensory evaluation. Familiarity with USDA/FDA guidelines, GMP, and HACCP. Strong communication and documentation skills. Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and project management software. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and meet lab physical demands. Preferred Experience Background in a family-owned or privately held business.
