Associate Director, R&D Data Science & Digital Health – Oncology/Prostate Cancer
Role summary: Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine seeks an Associate Director to lead Data Science & Digital Health efforts for Prostate Cancer within Solid Tumor Oncology. Location options: Spring House, PA; Titusville, NJ; Raritan, NJ; New Brunswick, NJ; Cambridge, MA; San Diego, CA. Up to 15% travel. Responsibilities
Lead scientific and strategic direction for clinical-stage Prostate Cancer programs within Data Science & Digital Health. Represent Data Science to Compound Development Teams; identify, develop, and deploy DS capabilities. Provide subject matter expertise in prostate cancer clinical development, trial design, real-world evidence generation, and ML/AI tools. Apply advanced analytics, including statistical models and AI/ML, to uncover insights from complex datasets; collaborate with clinical project teams and functional area partners to deploy Data Science solutions. Evaluate and manage external partnerships that can leverage new technologies/solutions/data assets for Prostate cancer program needs. Lead multidisciplinary teams, manage internal and external partnerships, and provide technical expertise to enhance R&D success and patient impact. Required Qualifications
Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD or MS) in a field with experience working with high-dimensional datasets (e.g., Data Science, Biostatistics, Outcomes Research, Public Health, Computer Science). 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare analytics, with a focus on oncology and/or hematology. Understanding of data science research practices, such as predictive technologies, data mining and/or text mining. Hands-on experience with Data Science use cases in R&D (e.g., ECAs, site selection algorithms) and strong problem-solving abilities. Experience with healthcare datasets (EHR, Real World Data, genomics) and understanding their structure, limitations, and research applications. Experience driving external partnerships in corporate or academic settings. Proven ability to manage timelines and deliverables in a matrixed organization. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills. Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of genitourinary clinical oncology, including treatment paradigms and clinical trials. Hematology/Oncology fellowship training.
