Position Summary The Data Strategy Manager oversees data collection, reporting, and analysis for the AUW 211 Helpline, ensuring high standards of data quality, integrity, and accessibility. This role develops dashboards, reporting tools, and insights that guide program improvement, inform funders and partners, and strengthen AUW’s leadership in understanding community needs. The Manager will also serve as a bridge between AUW’s technical systems (Salesforce, call center platforms, reporting dashboards) and community stakeholders, ensuring 211’s data is reliable, impactful, and positioned for broader use in policy and resource development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Community & Strategic Impact Develop and implement a data strategy for AUW 211, aligning data systems and reporting with organizational goals and statewide initiatives. Use 211 data to identify community needs, unmet needs, and emerging trends. Supervise data research interns and fellows, providing mentorship and oversight of projects that analyze and translate 211 data for community use. Oversee database curation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Inform USA and United Way standards. Conduct community research by integrating external public data sources (e.g., Census, BLS, state-level datasets) with 211 data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities. Partner with the VP of 211 on strategic leadership initiatives, using data to inform policy, advocacy, and system-level decision-making. Produce compelling infographics, maps, and data visualizations for both technical and public audiences, ensuring AUW’s data is accessible and impactful. Support advocacy and fundraising by producing data that demonstrates AUW’s impact and informs policy. Represent AUW 211 in local and national data collaboratives, ensuring alignment with Inform USA and United Way standards. Lead and coordinate data sharing and collaboration with other AUW departments to enhance organizational impact. Data Management & Quality Oversee database processes, queries, and reporting within the 211 Helpline. Implement data quality standards and ensure compliance with confidentiality and privacy requirements. Develop and document data dictionaries, SOPs, and reporting workflows. Reporting & Analysis Design and maintain dashboards, data visualizations, and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders. Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on community needs, service gaps, and 211 performance. Support funder reporting, board reporting, and public communications with accurate and compelling data. Support disaster data reporting and surge capacity analysis. Systems & Technical Support Serve as liaison with vendors (Salesforce, call center, reporting tools) to troubleshoot and optimize systems. Maintain integration between multiple platforms (e.g., Salesforce, CXOne, Power BI, website analytics). Train staff on data systems and develop resources to build organizational data literacy. Other Duties Manage data-related projects such as database clean-up, system upgrades, and platform migrations, ensuring they are delivered on time and with stakeholder input. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with AUW policies and applicable law. Participate in team and cross-departmental projects as needed. Preferred Qualifications Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in data science, public policy, social sciences, information systems, or related field preferred. At least 2–4 years of experience in data management, reporting, or analysis, preferably in nonprofit, government, or social services. Skills & Knowledge Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel required), and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Experience with Salesforce or other CRM/database systems strongly preferred. Strong data analysis, report writing, and visualization skills, with ability to translate data for non-technical audiences. Knowledge of community information and referral systems, social service data, or health/social determinants of health is a plus. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Other Requirements Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Must pass a background check and drug test. Must be located in Hawaiʻi or have pre-existing plans to relocate.
