• This unit is an exciting environment where the interventions are cutting-edge. Patients come from all over the globe for the specialty care our nursing and physician staff provide.

• Patients on this unit have sustained a multi-trauma event and/or have had surgery. Our surgical patients are recovering from all types of surgeries (mainly abdominal and cancer surgeries)

• Candidates are asked to be active members of Ellison 7's environment of learning. As a Dedicated Educational Unit, Ellison 7 partners with nursing schools across Boston and often has clinical groups.

Qualifications

• BSN strongly preferred

• Current Massachusetts RN license required

• A minimum of one year of experience is required

this is a 32 Hour/week position Evening (3 - 11) shift**Job Summary**Summary

Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.

Essential Functions

-Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.

-Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.

-Record patients' medical information and vital signs.

-Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.

-Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.

-Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.**Qualifications**Education

Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Registered Nurse MA RN license

Experience

Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.

- Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.

- Knowledge of medical terminology.

- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
