National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS) through the Experienced Services Program (ESP). The selected candidate will provide administrative expertise and support to the National Park Service. Responsibilities
The Project Specialist will provide research opportunities and collect data to create further support for the Land and Water Conservation Program Team. Research federal and state grant program requirements to help the LWCF program better serve its state partners and modernize the LWCF program (45%). Research past and current grant applications to gather data defining trends in outdoor recreation (20%). Gather data to inform the development of new guidance (25%). Develop a report on findings and deliver it to the LWCF staff through various training methods (10%). Qualifications
MA/MS Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences) and a minimum of 15 years of experience in park management and leadership. Management experience in a large organization in conservation/outdoor recreation. Experience with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint. Other Requirements
Periodic travel to Washington DC and other regional offices may be required. Physical requirements: Normal office environment activities.
