We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior AI Application Engineer with a proven track record in designing and implementing production-grade AI applications, with a strong emphasis on Generative AI solutions. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The AI Engineer Senior must have: Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science Experience: 5+ years of related experience Required Technical skills: 5+ years of proven experience as an AI/ML Engineer or Software Engineer with focus on AI applications 2+ years of hands-on experience building production applications with Generative AI and Large Language Models 2+ years of demonstrable experience with Databricks platform, specifically Databricks GenAI capabilities 5+ years of strong proficiency in Python programming with experience in AI application frameworks 3+ years of experience with AWS AI services, particularly Bedrock, and integration with cloud-based AI solutions Proven experience implementing RAG architectures, vector databases, and semantic search capabilities Strong understanding of prompt engineering, few-shot learning, and LLM optimization techniques Knowledge of responsible AI practices, bias mitigation, and AI safety considerations Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to architect complex AI application solutions Strong communication skills to explain AI capabilities and limitations to technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams Desired Skills: Experience with multiple LLM providers and model orchestration platforms Familiarity with fine-tuning techniques for LLMs including PEFT, LoRA, and instruction tuning Knowledge of vector databases and embedding models Experience with conversational AI, chatbot frameworks, and dialogue management Experience with API development and building scalable application backends Proficiency with containerization for AI application deployment Understanding of AI evaluation frameworks and metrics Experience with streaming responses, token management, and cost optimization strategies Familiarity with Unity Catalog for AI asset governance and lineage tracking Knowledge of computer vision or multimodal AI applications Experience with frontend frameworks for building AI-powered user interfaces Contributions to open-source AI projects or published research in AI/ML GDIT IS YOUR PLACE At GDIT, the mission is our purpose, and our people are at the center of everything we do.
