Preservation of Affordable Housing About the Opportunity:
POAH is seeking an accounting professional to join our collaborative finance and accounting team. In this position, you will work closely with members of the Finance & Accounting Team, Real Estate Development project staff, and Property Management Accountants in project and corporate accounting: Record monthly corporate activity. Record monthly construction draws for new construction and development deals. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations. Assist with development entity financial reporting that is integrated with in-house property management. Assist with preparation of corporate quarterly workpapers for internal financials and annual audit workpapers. Support development and finance teams in debt and equity processing Prepare audit schedules for cost certification, annual property audit and tax return preparation. Assist with daily monitoring of cash activity for all corporate and development accounts. Support CFO, VP Finance & Accounting and Finance Associate with maintaining banking relationships and increase Treasury efficiencies. Qualifications: B.S. in Accounting 1-3 years experience in finance or accounting Self-starting individual who enjoys working in a collegial and entrepreneurial setting. Ability to piece together data from many sources and individuals. Skills Strong teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing, with a wide range of partners including financial, legal, regulatory, design/construction professionals, and residents. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data tracking in Excel or similar platforms.
