Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field Two years administrative and supervisory work experience in food service/child nutrition Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding food preparation and service
Reports to: Food Service supervisor
Supervises: Assigned Child Nutrition employees
Terms of Employment: The contract length will be 220 days.
Evaluation: Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the Food Service supervisor.
Job Goal: The Food Service Coordinator will endeavor to work cooperatively in administering the food service program at the District level in a positive, efficient, and effective manner to meet nutritional needs and program acceptability of students and staff in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Performance Responsibilities:
Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures. Assists in menu planning and development with the goal of increasing customer satisfaction and participation. Monitors school food production; checks for recipe and menu accuracy, sanitation, and food safety, portion control, and production record accuracy. Assists in the development of a marketing plan that promotes Food Service to students, parents, other school personnel, and the community. Coordinates the District's free-and-reduced program. Assists in employee training and development. Researches and submits applications for child-nutrition-related grants, when available and applicable to the District. Supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned Child Nutrition employees. Other duties, as assigned.
