JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION: Food Service Coordinator STATUS: YEAR ROUND EMPLOYEE WAGE: SET ANNUALLY BY THE BOARD BENEFITS: AS SPECIFIED BY THE BOARD WORK YEAR: 260 DAYS WORK WEEK: 7.5 HOURS PER DAY SUPERVISOR: FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR REQUIREMENTS: Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Food Service Management, Nutrition or related field preferred. Minimum 3 years Food Service Experience including food production, food service back office management and employee supervision. School food service experience preferred. Good Phone Skills and Intercom Skills Good Office Skills: Filing, Record Keeping, Confidentiality, and neat work habits. Good Typing and Word Processing skills; also additional computer skills Ability to maintain an positive work climate by being cheerful, responsible, cooperative and flexible Maintain a positive relationship with students, staff and parents Willingness to learn new skills by attending training sessions and/or in-service training. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50#. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment which demands both standing and sitting for long periods of time. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Completes payroll process Oversee inventory collection processes including EOY inventories Update POS system Attempt collection of cafeteria debt per policy Assist in annual procurement process Assist with Primeroedge input including team work, menu planning, production and student eligibility Assist with bank deposits Update web site as needed Complete technology and maintenance requests Responsible for with menu planning with director Monitor refrigeration/freezer temperatures, weekend alarms Maintain all department communications General office duties including file/ copy/scan/fax Coordinate staffing coverages in all schools with Head Cooks. May need to work positions in kitchens at times. Assist with catering functions as needed. Monitor food quality and food production in all kitchens. Coordinate student activities that impact food service operations. Accept any other duties assigned by the Food Service Director Oversee wellness team and ensure district is compliant with national standards Contribute regularly to school agriculture program Develop and research new recipes Provide special diet as requested according to regulations Knowledge of food allergies
