Metropolis is seeking an Assistant Controller to play a key leadership role in the execution of corporate accounting operations. The Assistant Controller is the executional builder — responsible for standing up core accounting processes, leading the close, and operationalizing the Controller’s vision. This role is about turning strategy into scalable processes. What you"ll do

Close Leadership: Own monthly/quarterly close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and scalability. Process Build: Design and implement new policies, controls, and workflows (GAAP/IFRS, revenue recognition, consolidations). Systems & Tools: Drive automation/AI adoption in reconciliations, reporting, and consolidation. Talent Development: Build and mentor a growing accounting team, instilling accountability and high performance. Partnering: Work closely with cross-functional leads (Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Operations) to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy. What we"re looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required. 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership. Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP/IFRS) and consolidation experience. Proven track record of implementing process improvements and leveraging technology/automation. Hands-on leader who has built close-to-reporting processes in complex environments. Comfortable with ambiguity and building from ground up. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across cultures and geographies. While not required, these are a plus

The anticipated base salary for this position is $190,000.00 USD to $220,000.00 USD annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including qualifications, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, disability coverage, life insurance, stock options, bonus plans and more. Metropolis values in-person collaboration to drive innovation, strengthen culture, and enhance the Member experience. Our corporate team members hold to an office-first model, which requires employees to be on-site at least four days a week.
