Cybersecurity Engineer IV

to support a federal customer. This role requires a TS-SCI CI Poly and is on-site in Reston, Virginia.

This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cybersecurity solutions that enable the organization to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from threats. The ideal candidate brings advanced technical expertise, hands-on engineering skills, and leadership in developing secure architectures in compliance-driven environments.

Responsibilities Lead the planning, design, and implementation of enterprise cybersecurity solutions aligned to organizational policies, standards, and mission objectives. Define and develop advanced security requirements using risk assessments, threat modeling, and system analysis. Develop integration strategies to secure existing infrastructures and incorporate new technologies and future-state architectures. Create action plans covering policy creation and governance, system hardening, incident response, disaster recovery, and monitoring for emerging threats. Leverage tools such as SIEM, DLP, IPS, and other platforms to build advanced security capabilities and response frameworks. Conduct architectural reviews to ensure compliance with organizational standards, industry best practices, and federal guidelines. Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats and proactively recommend improvements to enterprise security posture. Provide leadership and mentorship to technical teams, often serving as a subject matter expert (SME) for complex security challenges. Partner with senior stakeholders across IT, security, and business units to align cybersecurity strategies with organizational goals. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related discipline. 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or equivalent senior-level technical role. Expertise in risk assessment, system hardening, incident response, disaster recovery planning, and enterprise security governance. Advanced proficiency with SIEM, DLP, IPS, and other cybersecurity tools. Demonstrated success in designing and implementing enterprise-wide security solutions. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide teams and influence organizational security strategy. Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical solutions to executive and technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications

Experience architecting cybersecurity solutions in federal IT environments. Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST RMF, NIST CSF, FedRAMP, or ISO 27001. Proven ability to lead advanced, high-impact security projects in enterprise or mission-critical settings.
