About the Role The Plant Controller will serve as a key member of the Manufacturing Leadership Team and the Operations Finance organization. This role oversees the preparation, accuracy, and analysis of financial statements in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. The Plant Controller will partner closely with cross-functional teams, provide financial insights to support operational objectives, and act as a subject matter expert on SAP and related reporting tools. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders to provide financial data, reporting, and analysis. Prepare and record monthly journal entries to ensure accurate period-end financial results. Conduct detailed account reconciliations and analysis for U.S. balance sheet accounts. Manage responses to internal and external audit requests in a timely manner. Develop and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting for the assigned facility. Drive process improvements by identifying opportunities, supporting leadership initiatives, and documenting enhanced procedures within the Finance & Controllership function. Oversee accounting-related projects, including acquisition integration, system transitions, and ERP enhancements. Partner with the Operations team to align financial insights with manufacturing performance goals and operational priorities. Monitor key operational KPIs, analyze performance variances, and provide reporting to support business decisions. Manage capital budgeting processes, including Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs), cost tracking, benefit analysis, and approval workflows. Develop a deep understanding of manufacturing value streams and their financial drivers to support strategic decision-making. Provide ad hoc financial reporting and insights to leadership as needed. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 5–8 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including experience preparing variance analyses and reviewing results. Solid understanding of standard costing and inventory valuation. Familiarity with SOX compliance and audit processes. Hands-on experience with ERP systems — SAP preferred. Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in PowerPoint and Word. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while balancing multiple priorities. Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to challenge assumptions and support sound business decisions. Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels. Comfortable learning new systems and adapting to evolving processes. Strong problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills. Highly organized, with proven ability to manage competing deadlines effectively. Excellent time management and prioritization skills to deliver results in a dynamic environment.
