Plant Controller Location
Roanoke, Virginia What you will do
Oversee the financial operations of the Roanoke plant, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to provide insights that support strategic decision-making at the plant level. Lead all accounting operations at the Roanoke plant, including job costing, inventory, general ledger, and monthly/quarterly/year-end close processes. Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to GAAP/IFRS as applicable. Develop and implement plant-level budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with Operations and department leaders. Analyze financial results, provide variance analyses, and recommend corrective actions or improvements. Prepare and present detailed financial reports to plant and regional management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities. Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive profitability and cost-control initiatives in partnership with plant leadership. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and support external audits and regulatory reviews. Foster a collaborative, results-oriented culture within the finance team and mentor plant-level accounting and finance professionals. Provide financial insights to align financial strategies with business objectives and inform investment decisions, plant projects, and cost-control initiatives. Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). CPA or CMA certification highly desirable. 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting within manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial principles; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics). Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence plant and corporate leadership. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with attention to detail and operational alignment. Preferred Skills
Familiarity with plant-level financial operations in a multi-national manufacturing company. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
