Overview Manager, Platform Operations Risk Management

As a Risk Manager at Capital One you’ll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. Risk Managers are the front line of defense to ensure our company remains stable and profitable. This role is within Capital One’s Customer Servicing Strategy team, applying risk, project, process management, analytical and technical skills to high-profile multi-tenancy platforms and projects. You will partner with Product/Technology leaders and business/operations teams to identify risks, design managed processes and technical solutions, and mitigate and control risks in a collaborative environment where new ideas are welcomed and rewarded. You will identify, assess, and report risks, challenge existing technology processes, capabilities, and platforms, and contribute to platform enhancements, automated tools, and improved processes for better service to agents and customers. The ideal candidate will work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with others to achieve shared objectives.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities)

Platform Risk Subject Matter Expertise : Using a risk management lens, serve as a subject matter expert with technology platforms, ensuring alignment of new features and enhancements with the organization’s risk appetite, governance and tenant needs.

Influence Technology Changes : Evaluate and influence technology changes and change management processes to identify, assess, and communicate technology and compliance risks.

Cross-Divisional Collaboration : Collaborate with product, compliance, legal, information technology, and audit teams to advance platform improvements.

Technology Change Risk Oversight : Identify and provide oversight of technology change risk, offering constructive challenge and strategic recommendations.

Documentation and Reporting : Author and revise policies, procedures, and controls, and prepare assessments and reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

At least 4 years of Compliance, Legal, Audit, or first or second line Risk Management experience

At least 3 years of Project or Process Management experience

At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

At least 3 years of Corporate Technical Risk Management experience

Professional certification within risk management and/or assurance: CRMA, CRA, CISA, CRMA or similar

PMP, Lean, Agile, Six Sigma or related certification

AI Governance or privacy-related certifications (as applicable)

Privacy certifications such as CIPT, CIPP, CIPM where applicable

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries apply to candidates hired to work in the listed locations. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated.

Chicago, IL: $132,800 - $151,600

McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700

Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600

Candidates hired in other locations will be paid according to the pay range for that location. The actual salary offered will be reflected in the offer letter. This role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses or long-term incentives.
