As a Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. This position offers hands-on experience and growth opportunities, in a dynamic retail environment where you will deter security-related incidents and foster a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers and staff. You will conduct patrols, maintain a visible presence, and respond promptly to incidents. This role is armed and driving, requiring you to utilize training and professionalism while on patrol. You will also interact with the public, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $15.50 / Hour Job Schedule: Tue 03:15 PM - 11:30 PM Fri 03:15 PM - 11:30 PM Sat 03:15 PM - 11:30 PM What You’ll Do: Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise Responsibilities: Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, while maintaining professionalism at all times. Conduct regular and random patrols around the retail location and its perimeter to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns. Monitor for suspicious activity and report any security-related incidents or hazards according to company protocols. Maintain a visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, and disruptive behavior within the retail environment. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and team members, providing assistance and information as needed. Document all security-related activities, observations, and incidents in accordance with Allied Universal policies and client requirements. Support emergency response activities by following established procedures and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency personnel when necessary. What We’re Looking For: Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a Level III Armed Certification for Texas roles. A valid driver’s license is required according to Allied Universal driver policy requirements. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
