Overview SRC, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager of Configuration Management (CM). This role will manage a team of CM professionals and oversee CM processes to ensure consistent implementation across the organization. Responsibilities include training, setting clear expectations, conducting audits, tracking metrics, and optimizing and maintaining processes with consistent adherence.

What You’ll Do

Establish the baseline CM process using SRC’s PLM Enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tool, including owning the roadmap of the tool related to CM.

Implement configuration management processes and ensure creation of downstream CM plans for customer/supplier technical baseline work packages.

Prepare change control documents such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Requests for Variance (RFV), Change Documents/Change Requests (CD/CRs); conduct program Change Control Boards (CCB); submission of Technical Data Packages (TDPs); perform configuration audits; generate configuration status reports; and related activities.

Collaborate with cross-functional groups to implement improvements to the configuration management paradigm and drive unified solutions that meet contractual requirements, standards, and business needs.

Manage a team to analyze proposed changes in product design and manufacturing processes, coordinate modification records for management control, facilitate reviews of engineering change data, and coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and others. Ensure customer requirements are implemented with approvals captured and compliant with CM policies.

Provide general coordination and implementation of CM requirements, policies, and practices pertaining to CM identification (baseline documentation, hardware, and software) in accordance with business and contract requirements.

Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Serve as an authority in systems thinking techniques and work with a broad range of sophisticated problems.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of experience in Configuration Management, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

5+ years of supervisory experience.

Demonstrated performance in influencing change within organizations.

Sound understanding of CM product life-cycle activities using EIA 649 and other recognized standards as a foundation.

Aptitude to establish an efficient, effective, and compliant CM process.

Practical knowledge of CM practices, processes, and standards: EIA-649B, EIA-649-1, MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-973, AS9100 ISO9001, and other applicable standards.

Working knowledge of CM and PLM systems such as ARAS, SAP or others (required).

Desire to establish an enterprise approach to product configuration in a multi-site design and manufacturing landscape.

Well-organized with good communication skills.

Working or expert knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Access, and Visio.

Ability to multitask and interact with off-site customer functions.

Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Ability to work independently when teleworking or remotely, unsupervised.

Experience managing a team with on-site, hybrid, and remote employees.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including pivot tables in Excel; experience with Costpoint and COBRA a plus.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $134,189 - $161,564 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
