Overview Dunn Carney’s Employment Team is expanding. We are seeking an attorney with 4-6 years of experience handling employment litigation and advice matters. This position will involve general civil litigation, insured and self-pay employment cases, and management-side advice work.

The preferred candidate will have experience in both state and federal courts, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda; overseeing document gathering and production; client and opposing counsel communication; developing case strategy; and taking and defending depositions, as well as experience in mediations, judicial settlement conferences, arbitrations, and trials.

Responsibilities The position will involve general civil litigation, handling employment litigation and advice matters, managing insured and self-pay cases, and providing management-side advice. Responsibilities include:

Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda for state and federal courts.

Overseeing document gathering and production; maintaining client and opposing counsel communication.

Developing case strategy and taking and defending depositions.

Participating in mediations, judicial settlement conferences, arbitrations, and trials.

Supporting a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

Strong oral and written communication skills with attention to detail.

Well-developed legal research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Demonstrated organizational and time-management competencies including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Willingness to take ownership and primary responsibility for assigned matters, and to work collaboratively with others.

Belief in the value of diversity and teamwork.

Admission to practice in Oregon is required; admission to practice in Washington is preferable.
