Job Description: Senior Civil Drainage Engineer – Southern California
Opportunity: Ready to apply your civil engineering and drainage design skills on marquee road and highway projects that will transform our community? Would you enjoy engaging in a variety of civil engineering tasks on small to large-scale transportation projects? Parsons is hiring a Senior Drainage Engineer for design-build and design-bid-build projects in Southern California, supporting Caltrans road, highway, and rail projects. The role can be based in Pasadena, Corona, or Irvine, with a hybrid work arrangement (working from home 1-2 days per week).

In this role:
You will engage in drainage and stormwater treatment designs, hydraulic systems modeling, and drainage calculations.
Review and prepare construction details, specifications, and estimates.
Perform quantity calculations and analyze data to ensure accuracy of designs and reports.
Deliver critical design components aligned with project scope; experience with CALTRANS projects is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
Develop and supervise engineering products that meet quality standards, including calculations, drawings, technical reports, and analyses.
Support other engineering activities as needed and supervise subordinates, providing performance feedback.
Lead or participate in project teams, providing technical guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineers.
Qualifications:
4-year degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
8+ years of relevant experience in road and highway drainage design, preferably with state DOT projects.
PE (Professional Engineer) license is required.
Proficiency in CAD and engineering software.
Experience with Caltrans projects and stormwater permits is highly desirable.
Experience with hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Bentley StormCAD, SWMM, and others is essential.
Security Clearance Requirement: None. This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.

Salary Range: $86,700.00 - $151,700.00
