ManTech seeks a motivated and career-oriented
Linux Systems Administrator
to join our team in
Laurel, MD . You will be part of a dedicated team delivering enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce supporting various national defense missions. This role directly supports the Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization—the foundation of all Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) for MPO.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2/3 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
Identify and resolve performance and capacity issues in Linux systems, and support hardware-related problem resolution and dispatching
Deliver detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
Install operating system software, troubleshoot system issues, maintain system integrity, configure network components, and implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance
Create accounts, reset passwords, and provide help desk customer service via phone, tickets, or in person
Work flexible hours between 6:00am-6:00pm, including potential evening patching schedules
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, OR Associate’s degree with 15 years of relevant experience, OR High School Diploma/GED with 20 years of relevant experience
Experience with configuring, maintaining, and modernizing a Linux OS environment
Experience with patching Linux OS environments to meet security compliance requirements
IAT II certification (DoD 8140 required within 60 days of employment). Acceptable certifications include CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with configuring, scripting, and managing Unix, RHEL, and Windows operating systems
Familiarity with Scanboy, JIRA, LatteART, and Enclave environments
Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move, carry, and set up workstations
Remain stationary for 50% of the time
Effective communication via email, phone, or virtual meetings, including delivering presentations
The projected compensation range is $125,500.00-$210,200.00, with factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location influencing the final salary.
